Team Blitz Wins Ju-Jitsu Title Belt at "Battle of Baltimore": Posted By: The M.A.S.T.E.R. System Network • Congratulations to United Martial Arts and Team Blitz member Bernie Clafferty on his Title Belt Victory at the "Battle of Baltimore" on Sunday Oct. 19th in the 160lbs-200lbs No Gi Ju-Jitsu division. Winning his first two matches by submission (via Rear Naked Choke) and shutting out his opponent in the finals 5-0 to take the title in his debut tournament. Since Burdyck's 'The Punisher' has been training full time with Team Blitz preparing for his upcoming MMA debut this spring. The fight is planned to be scheduled with Barbarian Fight Club (sanctioned through the Global Combat Alliance) for late June / early July. | |

The 'Butcher' Suffers First Defeat in Fight of The Night via SD: Posted By: The M.A.S.T.E.R. System Network • For those who missed "CHAOS IN THE CAGE" on August 23rd, inside the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center (promoted by Barbarian Fight Club and sponsored by TapOut). Robert 'The Butcher' Owens suffered his first defeat via split decision in the co-main event dropping his MMA record to (1-1) against hometown favorite David McGraw (1-0) fighting out of the Trident Academy in Stafford VA. The final judges scorecards read a controversial 28-29 / 29-28 / 28-30 receiving a split reaction from the 2,300 fans in attendance and finalizing what was later announced as the "Fight of The Night". Now winding down from his three round war Owens is scheduled to take the next couple of weeks off from the gym in anticipation of the birth of his baby girl and first born Adrianna. | |

S. Guy Wins Grand Championship Title Belt at Showdown: Posted By: The M.A.S.T.E.R. System Network • Congratulations Steven Guy and Team Blitz on a jaw dropping performance at the Maryland Super Showdown Championships, in the MBK Sports Complex at the College of Notre Dame. Steven competed in the Advanced Adults (18-29) Weapons Division placing first with a final judges score of 9.97 out of 10.00. Qualifying him for a shot at the Weapons Title Belt in the Grand Championship Round against the rest of the Weapons Division Winners throughout the tournament. In the Championship Round Steven was able to kick his form up another level and sweep the tournament taking home not only first place, but the Maryland Super Showdown Grand Championship Title Belt awarded personally by Master Carl A. Matthews. Steven is already back in the gym training for his next tournament which will be at the Ocean City Convention Center on September 13th., where he will once again be competing for a Grand Championship Belt in Advanced Adult Weapons. | |

System Network • Congratulations to Robert Owens Jr. and Team Blitz on a stunning six second knockout debut defeating hometown favorite Casey 'Pretty Boy' Watson (1-1) inside the cage at "Bustin' Out of The Cave" in the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center last Saturday night (5/24/08). Dropping his opponent to the canvas with a powerful straight left hand just seconds into the match, in front of over 2,600 screaming fans the 'Butcher' established his record at (1-0) and secured himself a spot on the next BFC fight card taking place at the Expo Center on August 23rd, promoted by Barbarian Fight Club and sanctioned through the Global Combat Alliance. Just two days after his victory Owens is already back in the Gym preparing for his next bout though an opponent has yet to be determined.... | |
